Subtle things you can do daily to stave off negative impacts on your mental health are as follows.
  • Lack of Intellectual Stimulation: If you are in a stagnant place intellectually such that you find yourself getting bored quickly, you may need a psychic lift by taking up a hobby or activity which fascinates you. Learning about things you are intellectually curious about has excellent value in and of itself.
  • Lack of Exercise: If you keep your endurance up each day by doing cardiovascular workouts, you will experience the wonders of the mind-body connection.
  • Lack of a Healthy Diet: You are what you eat. You may have more energy during the day by supplementing your healthy diet with vitamins.
  • Lack of Quality Sleep: You likely have found that you are more productive and upbeat when you get a good night's rest during the day.
  • Lack of Freedom from Television: You will find fewer television benefits your day-to-day emotional wellness.

  • Lack of Interpersonal Relationship Harmony: If you do the little things to ensure you are not taking the people you love for granted, you will likely be pleased with the results. When one wants their car to continue to run well, one makes sure to do preservice maintenance checks — which head off problems before they occur.
  • Lack of Quality Time Away from Toxic People: You will likely find that when fewer toxic people adhere to the concept of misery and love company, you will notice your life energy picking up.
  • Lack of Time Spent Following your Bliss: If you get no joy in your job. That means you are likely working solely to make money. Try to follow the bliss aspects of your job, and the money will come.
  • Lack of Authentic Laughter: When you are immersed in stress, your body will begin breaking down. On the other hand, you likely have noticed that when you make time to laugh a bit each day sincerely, your overall mood is enhanced.
  • Lack of Gratefulness: When you get up each morning and take a few minutes to jot down three things you are grateful for, you will find this small daily exercise will have a profound and beneficial impact on your life.

There are many things that can be bad for your mental health. Here are a few examples:

  1. Chronic stress - High levels of stress, particularly over extended periods of time, can have negative impacts on mental health.
  2. Substance abuse - Drug and alcohol abuse can cause both short-term and long-term mental health problems, including anxiety, depression, and addiction.
  3. Poor sleep habits - Consistently getting inadequate or poor-quality sleep can have negative effects on mood, cognitive function, and overall mental well-being.
  4. Social isolation - Lack of social connections and support can contribute to feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression.
  5. Negative self-talk - Engaging in negative self-talk, such as self-criticism or harsh self-judgment, can have negative impacts on self-esteem and overall mental health.
  6. Unhealthy eating habits - Poor nutrition can have negative impacts on both physical and mental health, including contributing to mood swings, fatigue, and other mental health concerns.
It is important to take steps to manage and mitigate these factors in order to protect and support your mental health. This can include seeking professional help, practicing self-care, and building healthy habits and support networks.
