What is your take on the concept of gender identity?

I believe that gender, being a man or a woman, is not a feeling. I’m female and a woman, but other than the feeling of being discriminated against and earning less, I don’t know what it means to feel like a woman, either.
When you ask some people, they will rattle off a list of sex-role stereotypes: soft, emotional, nurturing, etc. Men can be all these things, too, so they are talking about the stereotypical roles assigned to a specific sex.
