Yes. Biologically, gay people can’t be distinguished from straight people. How normal being gay is behaviorally is defined by culture, not science.

Of course, it is! Do you think anyone takes some kind of potion to make themselves gay? Or deliberately brainwash themselves? All so that they can be the targets of abuse and discrimination?

Same for trans people -- they don't take medication to become trans. Brainwashing to become not trans has been proved to not work, so why on earth would anyone think it could make someone trans?

Being a religious fundamentalist, a political extremist, or a homophobic, biphobic, or transphobic bigot, on the other hand, is entirely man-made, deliberate, and unnatural.

“Being gay” is a human construct. Long- and short-term same-sex bonding/intercourse occurs in much of the animal kingdom: most mammals, birds, and even octopodes.

New York had a famous couple of male penguins that lived together for years in a zoo: they were even given an egg to incubate. Most individuals have a sex drive even if they never reproduce. Having a gay relative to help out with child-rearing can benefit shared gene survival, even if the gay person doesn’t directly reproduce.

Yes, it is. Homosexual behavior is found in every mammal currently known to exist from monkeys to lions. Additionally, it’s also found in several species outside mammals, pretty much every species that has binary sexes and enough brain power to need the feeling of attraction rather than just pheromones to provoke mating.

What exactly causes this is still up in the air but since it happens in every single mammal species and several thousand others it appears to be naturally occurring.
